Moving Practice Communications from SMS to Email

Due to rising costs across the NHS and new restrictions, we are reducing our routine text messaging. Going forward, we will be primarily communicating with our patients via email and the NHS app.

Why the change:

  • Email is free to use, while SMS has become increasingly expensive.
  • Email allows us to provide more detailed information than text messages.
  • Patients will still receive SMS only for essential clinical communications, where necessary.
  • This change helps protect NHS funding for patient care.

How you can support us with this change:

  • Please provide us with your email address as soon as possible if you have one. You can update this by contacting the practice or by completing the Blinx form.
  • You may receive calls from your practice in attempts to obtain your email address.
  • If you do not already have the NHS app, we recommend downloading it and ensuring notifications are on.
